ThestoryofTurkishimmigrationtoAmericabeginsinthelate19thcentury.Theseearlymigrants,settlinginNewEnglandandacrosstheNortheastbetween1890and1924,carriedwiththemcenturiesoftraditionandanunwaveringspirit.Theybuiltnewlivesinunfamiliarlands,facinglanguagebarriersandthelonelinessofdisplacement,yettheyendured.

Throughouttheearly20thcentury,TurkishAmericansestablishedthemselvesacrossthenation—fromtextilemillstofactoriestotheoilfieldsoftheSouthwest.Theyworkedalongsidefellowimmigrants,contributingtoAmerica'sindustrialgrowthwhilepreservingthecustomsoftheirhomeland.
Bymid-century,TurkishAmericancommunitiestookrootacrosstheUnitedStates,includinghereinTexas.InNorthTexas,avibrantcommunityformed,drawnbyopportunityandthewelcomingspiritoftheregion.Fromthislegacy,TURANTwasborn—tohonorthosewhocamebeforeandensureourheritageenduresinDallas-FortWorth.
