About TURANT

TThe Turkish Association of North Texas (TURANT) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit organization dedicated to promoting cultural understanding and celebrating the enduring friendship between Turkey and the United States.

Founded by Turkish Americans who have made North Texas their home, TURANT serves as a cultural bridge, fostering dialogue and mutual respect between communities.

What began in 1976 as informal gatherings of Turkish families has evolved into a thriving organization serving over 500 member families. Our founders recognized that preserving cultural heritage while embracing American values would require a dedicated community space—a place where traditions could be honored and new friendships forged.

Our mission extends beyond cultural preservation—we actively contribute to the diverse tapestry of North Texas, building connections that strengthen both Turkish and American communities.

Through decades of service, we have witnessed the growth of a vibrant Turkish-American community. Second and third generations now participate alongside their parents and grandparents, creating a rich intergenerational dialogue that keeps our culture alive and relevant.

More than an organization, TURANT is a living bridge between cultures, generations, and communities.

Today, TURANT stands as more than an organization—it is a living testament to the power of cultural exchange. Our programs reach beyond our immediate community, partnering with schools, cultural institutions, and civic organizations to promote understanding and appreciation of Turkish heritage throughout North Texas.

From language classes that connect children to their roots, to cultural festivals that welcome all neighbors, from professional networking events to humanitarian initiatives, TURANT creates spaces where culture thrives and community flourishes. We are proud to serve as ambassadors of Turkish culture while contributing meaningfully to the American mosaic.
